CITB SSSTS Refresher 1 Day Course

Our Site supervision safety training scheme Refresher (SSSTS R) course is designed for those who have who have previously passed the two-day Site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS) course. It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up-to-date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace.

The course includes a wide range of topics which have been affected by changes to procedures, and builds upon the material in the original course

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • implement all updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation affecting your supervisory role
  • implement new guidance and industry best practice affected by changes
  • fulfil your responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare and the environment.
Progression

Natural progression from this course would be to attend the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or to attend the Site environmental awareness training scheme (SEATS) course, which is aimed at supervisor level. You could also take our NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision

Important stuff

Our refresher course is only for delegates who have previously passed the two-day Site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS) course and can provide proof of successful attendance. You must have passed the full SSSTS course or SSSTS Refresher within five years of the refresher course start date to be eligible. You should hold or be about to hold the role of a supervisor and have a good level of English

For our online course you will also need access to a computer/ laptop and must have the capabilities to access a Zoom account with a stable Internet connection

The SSSTS Course pass rate is 80% (24 out of 30) the assessment will be by an end of course examination and the trainer review. You must pass the exam and pass all three elements of the trainer review

If you fail the exam depending on the mark it can be re-taken within 90 days - If you pass the trainer review but fail the final exam, you may re-sit the exam (depending on your mark). If a you score less than 67% in the exam, you must attend the full course again, before re-sitting the exam

Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to take a refresher course before the expiry date on your certificate; otherwise, the full course will need to be retaken.
