First Aid at Work
Our qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become first-aiders in the workplace. Where an employer has identified a need for a fully qualified First Aider, a person should be nominated for training in accordance with HSE guidance and legal obligations. Our course will give you confidence and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.
Having trained appointed first aider in your workplace isn’t just a legal requirement. It’s a vital and necessary skill that can help colleagues and customers in the event of an accident or sudden illness, and can literally save lives
This three-day qualification meets the requirements of both the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982
At the end of the course, you will have an understanding of:
- The roles and responsibilities of a nominated first-aider
- How to assess an incident
- First aid skills in CPR and use of an AED
- Putting casualties into the recovery position
- Recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness
- How to deal with shock, burns, scalds, bleeds and minor injuries
- How to assist a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness such as chest injuries, spinal injuries and anaphylaxis
- How to use adrenaline auto-injectors
