Our qualification is aimed at learners who have access to any environment were coming into contact with hazardous substances is likely. This includes workplaces in areas such as manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities and office environments as well as classroom environments.

At the end of the course, you will have an understanding of:

  • Risk assessments for safe use of hazardous substances
  • Precautions and procedures to control the risk of hazardous substances

Important stuff

There are no formal entry requirements: however, we recommend you are a minimum of 14 years of age

To complete this qualification, you should expect to undertake 6 hours and of this 5 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.

You must complete 15-question multiple-choice examination that must be completed within 30 minutes. You will have to demonstrate knowledge across the unit content and correctly answer 9 questions or more to achieve a pass

Certification for this course is valid for 3 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course
